IN RE: MICHAEL A. JOHNSON

ORDER OF CONTEMPT

This matter came before the Court, (Wendlandt, J.) on Bar Counsel's Petition for Contempt, filed on November 21, 2025. Among other things, the petition alleges that Michael A. Johnson has failed to comply with this Court's August 25, 2025, Order of Term Suspension. On November 24, 2025, an order of notice issued and was served on the respondent, in the manner specified by S.J.C. Rule 4:01, § 21, directing him to appear before this Court on December 9, 2025. The respondent did not file a response to the petition. On December 9, 2025, Assistant Bar Counsel appeared, as well as counsel for the respondent. However, the respondent failed to appear. Through his counsel, he reported that he was ill. At the Court's request, an invitation was extended to him to appear by computer or telephone. He declined to do so. Having considered the filings and heard from counsel; It is ORDERED that the Petition for Contempt be, and hereby is, ALLOWED and Michael A. Johnson be, and hereby is ADJUDGED

in civil contempt of his Court for failure to effect full and timely compliance with this Court's August 25, 2025, Order of Term Suspension. It is FURTHER ORDERED that Michael A. Johnson shall have until the close of business on December 19, 2025, to file with the Clerk's Office of the Supreme Judicial Court for the County of Suffolk, and the Office of Bar Counsel, an affidavit establishing his full compliance with the provisions of the August 25, 2025, Order of Term Suspension and further averring under pains and penalty of perjury that he has not charged or collected any moneys from any person for performing any legal services on or after August 25, 2025. If the lawyer fails to comply with this order, the two- and one-half year suspension shall be amended and the lawyer shall be suspended for a period of three- and one-half years, and the starting on the date shall be tolled until his full compliance with the August 25, 2025, Order of Term Suspension.
